Will Patnaik be fourth time lucky ?

Odisha chief minister and ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday filed his nomination papers from his traditional Hinjli assembly constituency in southern Ganjam district.

He will be seeking re-election from the semi-urban constituency for the fourth consecutive term. He has been representing the seat since 2000. Sources said the chief minister filed four sets of nomination papers. After filing his nomination, Patnaik said he was extremely hopeful of his party doing well in the coming twin polls. “I expect the BJD to do very well in the coming elections,” he said.  Significantly, the Congress has not been able to finalise a candidate against Patnaik though Hinjli will go to polls in the first phase on April 10. March 22 is the last date for filing of nominations for the phase one polls.
