This clearly shows the indication of the much predicted second wave in the State. "We have been receiving a lot of Influenza like illness (ILI) cases and of late there has been an increase in the number of positive cases. This does show some warning signs for the second wave of H1N1 influenza," said Dr Vasudeva Murthy, Deputy Director, State Surveillance Unit.

He said that the State health department has asked all district health centres and hospitals to be well equipped, to tackle the onslaught of the second wave.

Meanwhile, one more death was reported in the City, where a 26-year-old woman admitted to a private hospital on November 18 succumbed on December 1 due to H1N1 influenza.

The woman had low blood pressure and had developed infection causing renal failure and resulting in multi-organ failure. Till date 121 persons have succumbed to the H1N1 influenza in the State.
