Jawahar, Vultures to lock horns in final

Jawahar Sports Club and Vultures Sports Club posted convincing victories to set up a final against each other in the KSCA T20 tournament here on Sunday.

While Jawahar defeated Social Cricketers by 42 runs in the day’s opening semifinal, Vultures crushed Bangalore Occasionals by seven wickets in the second semifinal at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.

The final will be played at the same venue under floodlights on Monday.Jawahar did their job of posting a challenging total to a nicety, romping to 190/6 from their allotted 20 overs. They rode on handy contributions from Shishir Bhavane (30), Mir Kaunain Abbas (41) and KC Avinash (30).

S Arvind (2-18), Anirudha Joshi (2-29) and Pavan Deshpande (2-33) grabbed two wickets apiece in Vultures’ good bowling display.

Vultures then chased down the target without much fuss, galloping home in 18.4 overs. Anirudha shone with the bat too, hitting an unbeaten 44.
