Khader dismisses charges over BDA site

Last Updated 27 March 2014, 20:06 IST

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader has termed the allegations against him (of allotting a BDA site which was sought by Kukke Subramanya Temple to a Trust run by his brother) as baseless.

“MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has nothing to tell about his achievements or future plans, so he is trying to make it an issue without knowing the reality,” he said.

Kateel had, on Wednesday, challenged the Congress to sack Khader from the ministry, who allegedly transferred the site, supposedly belonging to the temple, to the U T Naseema Fareed Memorial Charitable Trust, run by his brother in the name of his mother.

Khader told reporters on Thursday that the Civic Amenity (CA) sites notification was published by the BDA in 2012-13, during the BJP rule in State. In the notification, it is clearly mentioned that Banashankari 6th stage, 4th block layout is meant for the institute for the physically and mentally challenged. ‘

But, the temple administration had submitted an application seeking the land to build a ‘Vartha Bhavana’. So, it was allotted to the Trust, which works for the differently abled, he said.
