Four persons, Ravi, Lokesh, Krishna and Paramesh, were injured when a leopard pounced on them, at Aladahalli village, in Hassan taluk on Friday, when they were working in the fields.

They escaped with minor injuries and are being treated at the town hospital. The villagers complained that leopard attacks have become rampant in the last several days and no steps have been taken up by the forest department.
Male leopard trapped

The Forest department successfully trapped a year-old male leopard at Anagatti village, in H D Kote taluk, on Friday. This is the second leopard trapped by the department in the village. It may be recalled that the villagers had complained about spotting a leopardess and its cubs, following which the department had placed a cage.

A two-year-old leopardess was rescued last week and another trapped on Friday. A dog was laid as bait and the wildcat rescued.
