Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday filed her nomination papers from Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency after performing a ‘traditional puja’. She hoped that she would ‘once again receive love’ of the people.

Sonia’s son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi drove her to the collectorate premises where she presented her nomination papers to the returning officer. The Congress chief was showered with flower petals all along and a large number of party workers raised slogans in her favour as she arrived at the venue.

Sonia participated in a ‘puja’ and ‘havan’ at the Congress office at Raebareli before proceeding to the collectorate. Rahul also attended the ceremony.

Speaking to reporters after filing her nomination, Sonia expressed confidence that she would emerge victorious for the fourth time.
