'My dream roles are coming through'

She is bold and beautiful. German-Indian actress Evelyn Sharma, who scorched the screens with her performances in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Yaariyan, is all set for her next release Main Tera Hero.

And the pretty actress sure is excited to be starring opposite Varun Dhawan in the David Dhawan comedy.

“David Sir saw me in YJHD and offered me the role,” she tells Metrolife.
“I play a sexy character in the movie. I can’t reveal a lot except that she is sexy,” she adds.
Ask her if she is being stereotyped with glamourous roles and she refutes, “The other roles didn’t require me to do comedy. But here, I have to be funny. So there is a glamourous as well as humourous factor.”

Besides, she points out that she is playing a totally different character in her upcoming film Bhaiyyaji Superhitt opposite Sunny Deol and Arshad Warsi.

“I play a traditional character, who is sexy in her own way,” she explains. She has signed another film, which she can’t reveal much about but is “very different”.

Having worked with heart-throbs like Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, Evelyn says that each person has a different approach to work.

“It’s very different to work with newcomers and established actors. For instance, Ranbir knows exactly what he is doing. So he jokes around on the sets but the minute the camera is on him, he gets into the character. While Varun is still new. So he is very serious, focussed and wants to prove himself,” she informs.

About the actresses, she says, “Deepika (Padukone) always tries to get new inputs from directors while Nargis (Fakhri) is confident and Ileana (D’Cruz) is very easy to work with.”

So will Evelyn sign films down South?
“Why not,” she asks. “Though I’m tied up with Hindi films at the moment, if I get something interesting, I will surely be open to it,” she adds.

Apart from movie projects, appearances are also keeping the actress busy.
“Since my song Paani Paani was a big hit, I’m called for many dance appearances and I love it,” she laughs.

In addition to that, she goes for two hours of Hindi lessons and one hour each of yoga and gym.

She has even taken time out to start her clothing line, which is keeping her all the more busy.

Ask her if she has a dream role and she laughs as she sums up, “I think my dream roles are coming through.”
