Candidates brave heat to woo voters

Candidates of all political parties on Thursday conducted padayatras and roadshows braving the scorching heat to woo voters.

Congress candidate for Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency Rizwan Arshad conducted a roadshow on the thoroughfares of C V Raman Nagar in an open jeep. BJP candidate in the constituency P C Mohan campaigned in Chamarajpet, Shivajinagar and Ulsoor.

He also held a roadshow in an open jeep at Chamarajpet along with the party leader R Ashoka and later visited the Gurudwara at Ulsoor.

Bangalore North BJP candidate D V Sadananda Gowda conducted a roadshow and a bike rally at Malleswaram, while Congress candidate in the constituency C Narayanaswamy took out a padayatra at Mahalakshmi Layout and Dasarahalli along with senior party leader B L Shankar.

JD(S) candidate in Bangalore North Abdul Azeem began his day’s campaign at 6 am at Peenya Dasarahalli after offering prayers at Swamy Ayyappa temple. He also took out a padayatra at Jalahalli Cross, TVS Cross, Laggere, Peenya II Stage and Hegganahalli. Later in the evening, he campaigned at Hegde Nagar and Saraipalya.

Bangalore South Congress candidate Nandan Nilekani campaigned at Vinayaka Layout, Bapuji Layout, Bapuji Layout, Income Tax Layout and Chandra Layout.

He later visited Vindhya Infotech, an organisation that employs the differently-abled, and interacted with the employees.
