Speaking to the media persons after his arrival to the city to take part in the felicitation programme, Poojary said that the victory is the outcome of his struggle to uphold the rights of the local body members. “I worked to get the monthly honorarium for the local body members. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has earmarked about Rs 27 crores for the purpose. There are as many as 94,000 Gram Panchayath members who receive the monthly honorarium,” he added. Urban Development Authority President Sudhakar Shetty, CMC President Dinaker Shetty, Uday Kumar Shetty and others were present.
