Mega Lok Adalat in Bangalore on April 12

The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) has organised a mega Lok Adalat here on April 12.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Justice N K Patil, chairperson, KSLSA said that the adalat, which will be held on the High Court premises, will be inaugurated by the Judge of Supreme Court, Justice H L Dattu. “Despite the day being a second Saturday, it has been declared as a working day. We requested the Chief Justice to declare it as a working day,” he said.

Explaining about the measures taken to publicise about the Lok Adalat, he said that the KSLSA has issued directions to all the District Legal Services Authorities and Taluk Legal Services Authorities to organise adalats in all the courts in the State and to take up for settlement of cases which are pending in the respective courts.

He explained about how the pendancies have been reduced due to cases being resolved in the Lok Adalats and mentioned about how the 950 cases pertaining to the Upper Krishna Projects were disposed.

Informing about the number of cases disposed in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) through the Lok Aadalat, he said that the KSLSA will also resolve cases related to BDA on April 9 and 10 April.
