The UPA chairperson is taking part in a rally at the M Visvesvaraya district stadium. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress president G Parameshwara are also attending the event.

A nine-member team of officers of the Special Protection Group is in the city to oversee the security arrangements for Gandhi. They have conducted inspection of the venue and the place where a makeshift helipad is coming up.

District Superintendent of Police Ajay Hillori and other senior police officials are supervising the security arrangements. A total of 50,000 people are expected to attend the Congress campaign meeting. Tight security will be provided on the route from the helipad to the dais at the stadium.
