Last Updated 09 April 2014, 17:53 IST
Baroda posted a 16-run win, their second on the trot in the tournament, over a depleted Delhi side with left-arm medium pacer Lukman Meriwala grabbing a five-wicket haul in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament Group B game at the Sharad Pawar indoor academy at Bandra Kurla Complex here on Wednesday.

Electing to bat, Baroda made 131 for six. Opener and skipper Aditya Waghmode made 30 off 29 balls, punctuated with two fours and as many sixes, while Krunal Pandya made a quickfire 22 off only eight balls, with the help of two fours and a six.

Sumit Narwal, Pratyush Singh, Kshitiz Sharma and Varun Sood picked up a wicket apiece for Delhi. Chasing a modest target of 132, Delhi could only make 115 for nine to slump to their second defeat in as many games, having lost to Kerala at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Meriwala picked up three wickets in his first two overs to send Delhi reeling at 8 for 3 before Jagrit Anand and Yogesh Nagar stitched a 70-run partnership.
