A rich, resplendent, curated restrospective of 80 artworks entitled ‘Bersek 2013’, an art exhibition by children at Sublime Galleria, UB City, had vistors enthralled at the prodigious talent on display.

The imaginatively done artistic works, which had vividly and pictorially captured on canvas, nature, women, rural life et al, as they assimilated it, were all done by children in the age group of 8-12.

That these were creative palette of the three-day residential art conference held for children by Sublime Gallery were evident that the visual art tutelage had borne beautiful results. The children, according to Gallery Founder Uzma Irfan, besides being trained in visual art were also tutored in three other performance verticals — theatre, dance  and music.

Those that exhibited exceptional talent would be given scholarships to further pursue their aesthetic flair to better fruition, Irfan added.

An ecstatic Vedha B, a VII standard pupil from National Public School, HSR Layout, described the three-day residential as fun-making artworks. “I have done two canvas paintings – one of a lady playing the guitar and the other of Radha and Krishna,” she enthusiastically said, pointing to her works.

Radhika Narayan, a visitor who was drawn to and amazed at the visual maturity of the children and the wide range of artworks exhibited, said each were unique and told a different tale altogether.

A dance performance by Katyani Singh, who received training under the dance vertical; release of CDs of songs composed by children trained under music and theatre verticals and staging of a play were part of the programme.
