Rahul a party to UPA scams, says Parrikar

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday alleged that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi too had a share in a number of scams and scandals during UPA-I and UPA-II rule at the Centre.

Participating in an interaction programme organised by the State BJP at Marathahalli as part of the party’s poll campaign, he said the Congress-led UPA has ruled against the aspirations of the people.

The country’s economy is in a shambles. Rahul Gandhi too has a role in the current state of affairs. He cannot escape from taking the responsibility, he added.

Rahul Gandhi has been only giving assurances. He should speak about his contributions to the nation, if any. The Congress believes that its responsibility is over once the election manifesto is released. The big challenge is the implementation, he said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has remained silent through out his 10-year tenure. Somebody else was speaking on his behalf. He is maintaining silence even at the time of elections. His silence indicates that he too wants Narendra Modi to become the prime minister, Parrikar said.
