The protesters alleged that while a sum of Rs 5 lakh has been released to Gram Panchayat, wages are yet to be paid to people who worked under NREGS in Chitanahalli, Togli, Dinnur and Aleri villages. However, the promise is yet to be honoured, they alleged.

The dharna was withdrawn following an assurance by Taluk Panchayat authorities that the problem will be redressed in a week. Raitha Sangha activists T M Venkatesh, Krishnegowda, Gangamma, Narayanareddy, Govindappa, Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) district secretary Gandhinagar Naraya
naswamy took part.
