HC stays proceedings in Wakf Board case

 
The FIR filed on December 5 had named Wakf Board Chairman Khalid Ahmed, MLC A M Hindusgeri, Ex CEO of Wakf Board M A Khaled, ex MLA K M Ibrahim and Bar Council Chairman Abdul Reyaz Khan. The petitioner M A Khaled claimed that the 2 acres and 3 gunta land, which was allegedly alienated, did not belong to the Wakf Board and the Revenue Tribunal had declared it not to be Wakf property and the case had been filed to harass them.

Meanwhile, Hindasgeri has denied allegations that he had sold the Wakf property when he was the minister. “I have not sold even an inch of Wakf property. But some politicians with vested interests are trying to malign my image,” he said in a press note issued in Hubli on Tuesday.
