Man, son killed in car-truck collision

 A man and his son were killed while their relative sustained injuries in a road accident in Avalahalli police limits on Monday evening.

The deceased have been i identified as Kempegowda, 32, a businessman and his son Kushal Kumar, 6, both residents of Immadahalli. Sahana, 10, the daughter of Kempegowda’s elder brother is being treated at a private hospital, police said.

The accident took place at Immadahalli near Whitefield when the three were returning home in a car after visiting their relative.

An onion-laden truck rammed a parked tanker lorry before hitting the car by which the three were travelling. The truck came to a halt after hitting a goods vehicle.

The truck driver fled the spot. The trio were shifted to a nearby hospital where Kempegowda and Kushal were declared dead on arrival, said the police.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post mortem.

Woman mowed down

In a hit-and-run case, a 70-year-old woman was killed on the spot after an unknown vehicle mowed her down on Tumkur Road in Yeshwanthpur traffic police limits on Saturday night. The identity of the victims is yet to be established, police said.

The accident took place at around 7 pm in front of the Golden Gate Apartments near MEI factory when the victim was crossing the road. The driver fled the spot with the vehicle.

The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital, police added.
