The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday cited the Bangalore-Guwahati Express blasts to reiterate its demand for enhancing the security shield of its top leaders, as the party feared that the train took a route close to Tirupati where Narendra Modi had addressed a rally the previous evening.
Besides, the opposition party was of the view that piped bombs recovered after the blasts in the train, which begins from Bangalore and ends at Guwahati, mid way at Chennai indicates a modus operandi similar to that used in botched bid to subvert L K Advani’s Rath Yatra in 2011. Advani’s yatra was diverted when pipe-bombs were recovered in Madurai.
