Metro barricades fall on security guard

Last Updated 09 December 2009, 19:44 IST

The guard works for A P Electronics store. According to eye witnesses, four to five metal barricades fell on him as he tried to take out his two-wheeler parked within the barricaded area, near the concrete pillars.

However, no police complaint was lodged. “We do not know how the barricades came down. Many vagabonds and street children repeatedly enter the barricaded area during nights and steal small pieces of iron rods/cables that are strewn around on the ground. There are no guards posted there. It is possible that the barricades came down as the cables tied to them were removed,” said a shopkeeper on CMH Road.

When contacted a BMRCL spokesperson said no accident was reported by their on-site engineers.

The Cottonpet police said they had arrested three persons and thwarted a burglary attempt. The arrested persons are Stephenraj, Selvaraj of Anjanappa Garden and Veejee of Bhakshi Garden.

The police surrounded them at an open space near Balemandikai and seized lethal weapons from them.
