CBI clean chit to Amit Shah

CBI clean chit to Amit Shah

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has filed two charge sheets in the 2004 Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case naming at least a dozen police and central intelligence officials, on Wednesday sought to give a clean chit to Amit Shah, former Gujarat home minister and close aide of Narendra Modi.

In a report to the Special CBI court in Ahmedabad, the agency stated that it had found no evidence of Shah’s involvement in the fake encounter or him ordering the shootout at the four persons, including Ishrat Jahan.
