Bangalore-MFI gets Rs 27-crore investment from three firms


This investment will enable the Grameen Koota to enhance its business growth by expanding operations to its three neighboring states, Grameen Koota, Managing Director, Suresh Krishna said, in a press release.

Grameen Koota has close to 3-lakh borrowers and 117 branches in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The three firms had earlier invested Rs 36 crore in Grameen Koota.
By 2012, the company plans to reach 20 lakh poor and low-income households across 7 Indian states, the company said.
Presently, the company has 1,200 employees and an outstanding loan portfolio of Rs 155 crore.
