Clooney's 'Up in the Air' sweeps Washington Critics Awards

The film won in the Best Movie category and Clooney took home the Best Actor prize, while filmmaker Jason Reitman picked up both Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay honours, Female First online reported.

The Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association (Wafca) accolades cap a golden week for 'Up In The Air' which also received the Best Film honors from the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures recently.

The film is about a corporate downsizer (Clooney) in his travels and follows his isolated life and philosophies, along with the people that he meets along the way. It is set to hit the theatres on December 25 worldwide.

Other winners at Washington Critics Awards included British actress Carey Mulligan who was named Best Actress for her role in 'An Education' and Christoph Waltz awarded the Best Supporting Actor nod for 'Inglourious Basterds'.
