Two ultras killed in gunfight

Atleast two ultras were killed when the Army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. One Army trooper was also injured in the gunfight.

Reports said the gunfight broke out in the early hours of Saturday when the militants tried to sneak into the side of the LoC in forward belt Kalsi in Poonch, 185 km south of Srinagar.

Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said, “Our alert troops noticed movement of a group of militants at around 2.30 am on Saturday. The intruders were challenged triggering a gunfight.”
