SHLCC clears three projects

The State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday cleared three projects with a total, investment of Rs 883.7 crore including a Rs 385-crore distillery plant in Bangalore.

According to a statement released by the chief minister’s office, the SHLCC approved proposals of SPR Distilleries to set up a distillery unit with an investment of Rs 385 crore; a proposal of  Sri Srinivasa Education Charitable Trust to start educational institutions with an investment of Rs 246.70 crore and that of  International Aerospace Manufacturing Pvt Ltd to set up a unit in Bangalore with an investment of Rs 207 crore. The three projects have potential to provide employment to 2,100 persons.

The statement said that the government would come out with a new industrial policy to make Karnataka the most preferred destination for investors.

According to sources, the decision on clearing major projects was deferred as the proponents had sought extension of time, increase in power requirement and change of location among others.
