A 54-year-old home-alone woman was found dead in her residence in Sarakki in JP Nagar police limits on Wednesday.
According to police, Gayathri, a homemaker, was found dead near the staircase in her house.
The incident came to light when her husband Jayaprakash, who owns a medical store, came home at around 9 pm and found the door open. He found Gayathri lying in a pool of blood near the staircase.
A senior police officer said that the woman’s throat was slit. However, valuables on her person and those in the cupboard were intact.
“We suspect the role of some known person. The motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained,” he said.
