Three people were injured in a serial accident triggered by a BMTC bus near the underpass in Malleswaram on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the driver of a BMTC bus, plying between Kamalanagar and Majestic (route No 96), lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into the divider.

The bus then went on to hit three cars and bikes, injuring three people. All the vehicles were extensively damaged before the bus came to a screeching halt.

The injured have been identified as Hemaraju and Anwar, who were riding bikes, and Surendar Reddy, a passenger in the bus.

All of them suffered minor injuries and were taken to the nearby KC General Hospital and discharged after first aid, police said.

“The driver abandoned the bus and fled the spot,” an officer at Malleswaram traffic police station said, adding that a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered. The cause for the accident is yet to be ascertained, he added.
