EC uses technology to curb malpractices

The Election Commission has made extensive use of technology to curb malpractices during the voting for Lok Sabha polls on April 17.

As many as 6,072 CCTV cameras have been installed at polling booths across the State while direct video recording of voting process will be made in sensitive and hypersensitve booths.

Besides, the polling at 2,687 booths will be webcast.

The district election officer will manage webcasting based on the poll history of a polling station or randomised selection to view the proceedings of the day.

General public can also request the DEOs to watch the proceedings inside the polling station where the facility has been provided.
