Senior IAS officer Sanjiv Kumar, who had recently incurred the ire of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a section of Cabinet ministers over the controversy surrounding the constitution of the Civil Services Board for all-India service officers in Karnataka, has been transferred.
Kumar, who headed the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DP&AR), has now been posted as Principal Secretary, Housing Department.
Kumar, as principal secretary, DP&AR, had recently told the Karnataka High Court that the government was prepared to constitute the Civil Services Board apparently without informing the government.
This, at a time when the government had kept in abeyance an executive order on forming the board. Kumar’s submission had angered senior ministers, who at a recent Cabinet meeting demanded that he be suspended for keeping the government in the dark.
According to an official notification issued on Thursday, Dr E V Ramana Reddy has been appointed Principal Secretary, DP&AR, Bangalore. F R Jamadar has been appointed deputy commissioner, Ramanagara district.
