There was something for everyone

A two-day intercollegiate cultural festival ‘Milagro’14’ was organised by the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) recently.

It was inaugurated by actress and bharatanatyam dancer, Bhavana Ramanna and actor and director, Pavan Wadeyar.

Addressing the gathering, Bhavana said college days are the most cherished period of one’s life.

She pointed out that though these days are a lot of fun, they also help one become more responsible.

She added that cultural activities should be an integral part of a student’s curriculum.

Pavan Wadeyar interacted with the crowd and said that students should unravel their creative side and pursue their passion diligently to attain success.

Venugopal KR, principal, UVCE, observed that the students who are engaged in cultural activities are the ones who are driven towards achieving excellence in their academics.

He said that extra-curricular activities are necessary to keep one’s mind and body sound and in turn, help them achieve success in their career. 

KK Seethamma, registrar, Bangalore University and P Deepa Shenoy, chairperson, department of computer science and engineering, UVCE, were present at the programme too.

The fest had a number of events including mad ads, solo dance, group dance, treasure hunt, short film and rock show to name a few.

The grand cultural extravaganza ended with a fashion show.

Around 2000 students from various colleges in and around Bangalore participated in the different events. The winning trophies were bagged by CMRIT, RGIT, Jain.
