Her debut film ‘The Xpose’ is doing well at the box office and Sonali Raut is quite pleased.

“I’m so happy with my debut,” she tells Metrolife. Cast opposite two of the biggest musicians of the generation — Himesh Reshammiya and Yo Yo Honey Singh — Sonali couldn’t be happier.

“This is all thanks to the casting director Honey Trehan. I had met him for Rangrez but that didn’t work out. Just when I was about to be launched by another director, Honey approached me for this film,” she recalls.

Sonali plays an actress ala Zeenat Aman in the film that is set in the 1960s.

“On the first day of the shoot, I had to do a scene similar to what Zeenat had done in Satyam Shivam Sundaram. I was nervous about portraying a classic Raj Kapoor girlBut I just went ahead despite there being 200 people on the set,” she says.

Speaking of the two musical stars, she says, “Himesh is a very talented and good co-star while Honey is a cool guy. It was a good experience to be on the sets.”

Being the sister of popular model Ujwala Raut, she has been in the field of glamour. However, Sonali is still getting used to the newfound fame.

Recently, there were rumours of a cat fight between her and Zoya Afroze, the other leading lady of ‘The Xpose’.

But she laughs it off saying, “I keep reading about these rumours too though there is nothing of that sort. I just read everything and am done with it. I don’t really think much.”

She adds, “I have learnt to be cool from my sister.”

On being asked about the most memorable moments on the sets, she says, “While I got to meet Salman Khan on the first day of shoot, Shah Rukh Khan came to the sets on the last day!

Salman is good friends with my sister and has seen me as a baby. He was very happy for me and wished me luck.”

An avid traveller, Sonali had a great time shooting for the movie in Paris.

“The French people were very happy to see a Bollywood movie being shot. It was a new experience as we shot everything on schedule,” she explains.

“It felt great to travel and so far, I travelled to over 20 countries,” she adds.
Does she have any dream role?

“Every time I watch any movie, I wish I was a part of it and the last movie I saw was ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’,” she laughs. And is there any actor that she would love to work with?

Pat comes the reply, “I want to act with everyone and am here to stay!”
