JOIN USTrap shooter Ronjan Sodhi didn’t find a place in the 30-member Indian squad for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 3.
The National Rifle Association of India's selection committee on Friday picked the shotgun team that has 10 shooters competing in six events. The teams for rifle/pistol events were selected last month.
The shooters were chosen on the basis of scores in the selection trials held earlier this month at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Almaty.
Meanwhile, the team includes Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, recent ISSF World Cup winner Manavjit Singh Sandhu, women pistol shooter Heena Sidhu and London Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang.
India shooters have always performed well in the Commonwealth Games. In the last edition at home, Indian shooters won 14 gold, 11 silver and five bronze medals.
