The anti-hero is here

Actor Vikram Singh confesses that he is best juggling his interests with acting. He goes horse riding when he needs to do something else other than acting and when he needs a break, he heads off to New Zealand, just to go sky diving and indulge in some water sport.

And that’s not all. He’s a trained boxer as well and someone who believes that fitness alone ensures a healthy body and an active mind. Vikram essays the role of an anti-hero in the just released, Heropanti, and he essays the character of a Jat male to perfection.

“Men from the Jat belt are not only known for their good looks but for their crude and rude outlook as well. People from that part of the country are pretty male-centric,” shares Vikram.

He states, “I had to work on building a good and firm physique because I had a lot of action sequences and couldn’t afford to get exhausted fast. I stuck to a routine, disciplined supplementary diet and that worked wonders.”

The character, says Vikram, gave him a push in many ways, including working towards building a positive outlook. Vikram recalls that among his many earlier projects, Ya Rab, a film showing the battle between two ideologies, comes to his mind almost instantly.

In the film, he played the role of a Muslim boy and it is the simplicity of the character that still remains with him. In a forthcoming project titled, Roll, Sound, Camera, Action, he plays a Punjabi film producer.

“A lot of people dream about making a Bollywood movie. I play a character with negative shades but he undergoes a transformation of sorts towards the end of the film,” he states. Vikram has a couple of projects and releases lined up in Telugu as well.

He will also be debuting in the Kannada film industry with Rana Vikrama where he will be acting alongside Puneeth Rajkumar.

“I’ve watched a couple of Puneeth’s films and I think he has an infectious energy and a style that’s unique to him. I will be playing a negative role which is what I like doing best,” he notes.

Vikram confesses that language is no barrier to him at all, “I will work in any language as long as the script and character are impressive,”he sums up.
