JOIN USA 10-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by eight men and the act was filmed on a mobile phone in east Delhi’s Geeta Colony.
Some of the accused also thrashed the boy’s parents when they were confronted.
Police on Monday said they have identified the accused and booked them for sexually assaulting the boy, and for beating and threatening his parents.
One of the accused Vikram, 25, has been arrested.
The boy was sexually assaulted first in early May this year when he was out to buy something from a nearby shop.
He was lured by one of the accused, who promised to show him pigeons.
The accused took him to his house and allegedly sodomised him.
Over the next few days, he called seven of his friends, who took turns to sexually assault him. The act was filmed by the accused on a mobile phone.
The accused also threatened the boy that his parents would be killed if he revealed the incident to anyone.
“The boy was scared and kept silent about it. But on May 27, his elder brother saw some men making fun of the boy,” a police officer told Deccan Herald.
When the boy did not respond, his brother told about it to their parents, who questioned him. After the victim revealed everything, the parents headed to the police station.
On the way, the boy saw one of the accused near a shop and pointed towards him. On being confronted by the boy’s father, the accused allegedly assaulted the victim’s family with the help of some of his relatives.
They also threatened to make the video public, the victim’s family told police.
Police were informed of the attack on the boy’s family and a PCR van arrived at the spot, only to find that the attackers had fled. The injured were taken to hospital, from where they were discharged later.
The victim was sent for a medical test, which confirmed sexual assault.
He gave the identities of all the eight accused, following which Vikram was arrested from his house.
