ZP president irked by delay in construction of Masti school

Non-availability of suitable site hampering construction


Speaking after inspecting a location near Masti-Varadapura road for the construction of the school recently, the ZP president said that non-availability of suitable location has been impeding taking up the construction though grants have been released two years ago itself.

 “The government has released about Rs 2 crore in three phases for the project conceived with the objective of providing access to quality education to rural students. However, the project has been put on the back burner on account of the conspiracy by vested interests and non-availability of suitable location,” he regretted.

Public interest
Srinivasan opined that elected representatives should evince interest in any work of public interest without any political barriers and should not scuttle such projects for petty political objectives. He called upon people to admonish elected representatives who create hurdles in implementation of public projects, only to serve their purposes.
Zilla Panchayat member G E Ramegowda said that the Zilla Panchayat  president, Srinivasan,  has been extending absolute cooperation in comprehensive development of Masti constituency without any bias. He sought cooperation of all the elected representatives cutting across party lines in construction of the residential school in the village.

Deputy Director of Public Instruction Prahlad Gowda, Block Education Officer Venkatrama Reddy, Masti Gram Panchayat president Sudha Bai, vice-president Syed Salim, Dinnahalli Gram Panchayat president Thimmarayappa, Taluk Panchayat member Kembodi Narayanappa and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking after distributing cheques from Calamity Relief Fund to beneficiaries, Srinivasan said that the Zilla Panchayat would extend compensation up to Rs 10,000 to the victims of natural calamities in the coming days.

The ZP has been giving compensation of Rs 2,000 so far and it has been decided to hike the amount to Rs 10,000, he revealed calling upon people to take advantage of the benefit. He instructed the officials to obtain proper information on the increase and disburse compensation accordingly.
Zilla Panchayat member Ramegowda expressed his gratitude to the Zilla Panchayat president for conceding his request to issue cheques.
