Resolve garbage crisis, HDK tells CM

Last Updated 04 June 2014, 20:47 IST

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to wake up from slumber and take immediate steps to solve the long-pending problem of garbage disposal in Bangalore.

“The chief minister had promised to solve the problem within six months. Now it’s over a year since the Congress came to power in the State. What happened to his promise? It is high time Siddaramaiah stopped drowsing and took concrete steps in this regard,” he said.

BJP too responsible

Not only the Congress, but the BJP is also responsible for the problem.

The BJP was in power for five years, but no action was taken to find a solution.

Kumaraswamy criticised the government for cutting down the frequency of the BMTC bus routes to cut costs, saying that the State-run transport corporation has been under loss due to mismanagement.

High-level probe

He said a high-level probe should be ordered into the previous BJP government’s decision to rent out TTMCs in Bangalore.
