A 'Nizam' who conned 62 girls into marrying him

Last Updated 05 June 2014, 19:47 IST

He is barely 35 years old, but has reportedly married 62 girls over the last 10 years.
Meet conman Mohammad Nizam alias Sujan alias Raj Kumar, who walks along with a walkie-talkie posing as a vigilance officer working with North-East Railways.

Ironically, after his arrest, it was found that he has not done his matriculation and cannot even write one sentence properly. Since 2004, Nizam has duped several innocent girls by marrying them, using their cash and valuables before dumping them for others.

‘Professionally’, he has duped several gullible youths under the garb of providing them jobs in the Railways, central government and other public sector undertakings.

The impersonator would have remained out of the net had some youth in North Bihar’s Vaishali district not complained about the master of masquerade.

A special team was constituted to crack this network of deceit. Finally, he was apprehended from Baligaon police station under Vaishali district.

“We were surprised to find that soon after his arrest, at least 15 girls, all in their 20s, turned up at the police station claiming to be wives of Nizam,” said station house officer (SHO) of Baligaon, Raj Kumar Paswan.

He added that the conman confessed he had wed 15 times, although it is suspected that he has married 62 girls so far.

Incidentally, a doctor from Khagaria too rushed to the police station after getting to know that his son-in-law (Nizam) had been arrested. He was aghast to find that 15 other girls present there were claiming to be Nizam’s spouses.

The doctor had organised a lavish wedding for his daughter and Nizam on March 21. Vaishali SP, Suresh Choudhary, said that the police would find out how Nizam procured a walkie-talkie, besides a TTE uniform.

“The conman has been booked under Sections 406, 420, 363, 365 and 414 of the IPC and sent to jail,” said the SP.
