JOIN USFive women and three children were stuck in an elevator for close to two hours at Feroze Estate, a commercial building on Cunningham Road, on Sunday afternoon, due to jamming of the gates.
According to the fire personnel, they got a call at around 3.30 pm, saying that eight people were stuck in the elevator. The elevator had stopped between the second and the third floors of the building. The gates of the elevator were jammed due to poor maintenance. It took more than an hour to rescue the people stranded in the elevator, a fire official who was present at the spot said.
The Cubbon Park police said that they would question the operator, who was not present at the time of the incident. The police said that no one had registered a complaint as of now.
