After Neptune had bowled out Jolly Cricketers for a modest 216 in the first innings, Chetan’s 7/52 helped Jolly Cricketers reduce Neptune CC to just 172 – for a first innings lead of 44.
In the second innings Jolly Cricketers had made 275/9 and Neptune CC just about hung on to get a point as they made 224/7 in their second essay. Chetan was again the star bowler with figures of 5/97.
In another match, Gopinath Saandra and Nihal FS slammed centuries as Young Lions Club grabbed three points against Friends Union Cricket Club (2).
Riding on Gopinath’s 123 and Nihal’s 111, Young Lions posted a challenging 371/6 off allotted 90 overs in their first innings.
Nihal then sparkled with the ball too, taking 3-60 as Young Lions restricted Friends Union to 292/9 in their 90 overs to take the innings honours.
