Thief lands in police net

Basavaraju, an employee of SMS Movers and Packers, was arrested by the CK Achchukattu Police, after he was caught stealing articles worth Rs 9 lakh from the house of one of their customers, while shifting.

The police have recovered the articles, including gold and diamond ornaments.

Woman held

Anusha, 28, who had made away with 66 gm of gold ornaments belonging to her mother-in-law, was arrested by Hanumanthanagar Police.

The police recovered the valuables, worth Rs 16 lakh, from the accused, who is a resident of Gavipuram.

She had taken valuables from her mother-in-law on the pretext of keeping it in a locker, but escaped with them to her mother’s house. Based on a complaint, Anusha was arrested.
