A teenager allegedly killed a 35-year-old man after seeing him in a compromising position with his mother in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar late on Friday.

The 17-year-old boy was apprehended after locals caught him with the body on a cycle-rickshaw, police said on Saturday.

Police said the juvenile has confessed to the crime and told police that he intended to dump the body in Yamuna. The boy and his mother have been booked for murder in a case filed with Jamia Nagar police station.

The incident came to the fore around 2 am on Saturday when the juvenile was carrying the body on a hired cycle-rickshaw. “Locals were on the streets to observe Shab-e-Baraat. They noticed the boy carrying something suspicious wrapped in a bed sheet,” said a police officer.

When the boy was confronted, he told locals that it was garbage, but they were shocked to see a body. They immediately informed police.

The victim has been identified as Feroz Khan, a taxi driver, who lived in Shaheen Bagh. A probe has revealed that Feroz was involved in an extramarital affair with the juvenile’s mother Sheena.

It is alleged that Feroz went to Sheena’s home in Okhla Vihar in the absence of her son on Friday evening. The juvenile returned home around 10 pm and found Feroz getting intimate with his mother.

In a fit of rage, the juvenile pushed Feroz and his head was hit on a wall.
Subsequently, Feroz lost consciousness and the boy strangled him. His mother stood there and did not do much about the proceedings. “The boy’s mother then helped him to wrap the body in the bed sheet,” the officer added.

The boy hired a rickshaw to the riverside in Okhla, but was caught midway. The rickshaw puller was also apprehended, but was let off after police found out that he was unaware of the juvenile carrying the body.

“His cycle-rickshaw has been impounded and has been told to stay around in case he is needed for further investigation,” the officer said. The boy’s mother was arrested immediately after he confessed the crime.

Feroz hailed from Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district and had married twice. He is survived by three children — Sahil, 7, Suhail, 5, and Khushi, 2. Sheena is a divorcee and worked as a domestic help.
