Govt didn't accept report on public lands: Speaker

The State government has not accepted the report of retired bureaucrat V Balasubramanian who headed the Task Force for Recovery of Public Lands, according to Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa.

“Law Minister T B Jayachandra told me that the report has not been accepted. He told me that Balasubramanian did not make spot visits while preparing the report. He prepared the report based on information given by the revenue department officials,” Thimmappa said while replying to reporters at the sidelines of a function.

In its report, the task force had stated that 11 lakh acres of government land had been encroached upon in the State.
