19K students take NET

The National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission was held on June 29.

As many as 19,538 candidates appeared for the examination in Bangalore, 1,500 more than the previous year, according to according to K K Seethamma, Registrar, Bangalore University.

“The attendance was good. There were very few absentees,” she told Deccan Herald.

The test was conducted at 29 centres for students registered under BU.

As many as 82 physically challenged students also took the exam. The test had three papers.

Paper I pertained to general aptitude to assess teaching and research aptitude.

Paper II was an objective part on the subject with objective type questions for 50 marks.

Paper III had 75 objective questions, also based on the subject chosen by the candidate.
