BU releases revised calendar of events

Bangalore University has released the revised calendar of events for the academic year 2014-15.

The university has also framed guidelines for admissions of students to various UG courses under the restructured Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).

According to a press release from the university, the colleges have reopened on June 30, for III and V semesters.

The admissions for all UG courses commenced on June 2. For freshers, the last date for admission without fine is July 12 and the last date for admission with fine of Rs 400 is July 21.

The last working day for the odd semesters will be October 28. The exams will begin with practical exams from October 13. The theory exams will be from November 17. Colleges will reopen for the next semester on December 18.

The fundamental core paper Environment and Public Health will be offered for BA and BSc students and for BCom students, Indian Constitution and Human Rights will be offered in the first semester. It will be vice-versa during the second semester. 
  
The university has also made it mandatory for lecturers to undertake valuation work during vacation and practical exam related work assigned by the university.
