Policy to empower differently abled soon

The Centre is planning to introduce a national policy for empowerment and self-sustainability of differently abled in the country, Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister H N Ananth Kumar said on Saturday.

Speaking after inaugurating a shop that sells products prepared by mentally challenged persons at Yashaswini Swavalambana Trust located at Dodda Kammanahalli, Bannerghatta Road, Ananth Kumar said the policy will work towards creating necessary framework for differently-abled people’s self-sustainability and empowerment.

The ministries of social welfare, women and child development, education and health will coordinate, he said.
