Zilla Panchayat President S N Raja Rao has said that the  zilla panchayat is mulling over constructing a flyover at Bhagamandala.

Speaking to mediapersons after inspecting the caved in boulders on Talacuvery-Bhagamandala road, he said that flood is a common feature in Bhagamandala. The flood throws normal life out of gear in the region. Hence, a proposal for the construction of a flyover will be sent to the government.

He said that the district received good rainfall for the last four to five days.

Talacuvery-Bhagamandala, Shanthalli, Srimangala, Kutta regions have received good rain. Boulders have started caving in on Bhagamandala-Talacauvery road. The officials should ensure that no inconvenience is met at the local residents.

Earlier visiting Triveni Sangama at Bhagamandala, the DC said that vehicles should not be allowed to clean at Triveni Sangama. Hundreds of people depend on river Cauvery for drinking water. The revenue inspector and PDO should ensure that no vehicles are cleaned in river Cauvery at Sangama.

The DC said that as a few areas are receiving heavy rainfall, it would not be possible to declare holidays for schools across the district. Looking at the situation at the local level, the BEO can bring it to the notice of the DDPI for declaring holidays for schools.

Superintendent of Police Anucheth said that the public can call 100 for any complaints on traffic block.

PWD Executive Engineer Purushotham said that the boulders which had caved in on road will be cleared.

PWD Assistant Executive Engineer Satyanarayana,  among others were present .
