Valuables worth Rs 5.55 lakh seized

Inter-state thieves nabbed

The JB Nagar police arrested two inter-state car thieves and recovered a car worth Rs 3 lakh.

The arrested are Pramod (34) of Jalahalli and Inoj (25) of Madivala. Pramod hails from Kodangallur in Thrisshur district of Kerala and Inoj from Kandshan Kadavu in Thrisshur district.

During the interrogation, the duo reportedly admitted that they had stolen many cars in JB Nagar, Madivala, Indiranagar, Viveknagar and Hassan during the last one and half years. They sold the cars in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharastra.

Murder solved

The Peenya police solved a murder case with the arrest of G Manjunath (35) of T Dasarahalli on Thursday.

Manjunath is accused of hacking Kamalamma of Bhuvaneshwarinagar to death on July 7. Manjunath reportedly had an illicit relationship with Kamalamma’s relative and she had prevented him from meeting the woman. Angered by this, police said Manjunath decided to eliminate her.

He hatched a conspiracy with his friends and visited Kamalamma’s house with the pretext of asking one of her houses for rent. Police said the he picked a quarrel over the rent issue, allegedly stabbed her to death and fled.

Three arrested

Three persons landed in Hebbal police net for allegedly indulging in thefts.

The police recovered a laptop, digital camera, computer and key board worth Rs 96,600 from them. The accused are Jayaraj Bahaddur, Jangalal Kamar, who hail from Kergram in Bhajan district of West Nepal and Karan, who hails from Chandrapuragram in Jharkhand. All the three accused stay in Horamavu.
