Congress will not topple BJP govt: Siddaramaiah

"If it falls on its own, we can't help," Congress leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah told reporters here, rejecting the oft-repeated BJP charge that it was plotting to dislodge B S Yeddyurappa-led government.

"People want this government to go. We will not topple it. Operation Lotus undertaken by BJP (to lure legislators of other parties) has boomeranged already," Siddaramaiah said, slamming the government for its "failure to perform".

Siddaramaiah, who discussed with senior leaders issues to be raised  in the state legislature session which will commence from December 21, said Congress will not interfere in BJP's internal affairs and was not into discussions with any of the ruling party MLAs, refuting reports that Congress and JDS were plotting to pull down the government.

Issues concerning "failure" of the government in implementing relief works in 15 flood-hit districts, energy crisis, non-distribution of ration cards to poor will top the party's agenda during the session, he said.
The state's finances were in shambles and there was no money for development, he charged.
