A 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped by a local Congress leader's son here, police said today.
The victim, a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar district, alleged that she was abducted from Noida sector 29 on July 28 by a local Congress leader's son, who took her to Meerut and raped her at a hotel, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) K Satyanarayan said.
After the incident, the woman went to lodge a complaint at the Sadar police station but police refused to take up the matter. Later, she went on to inform the DIG of Meerut, he said. The DIG has ordered the concerned police station to start a probe into the matter.
