Siddu govt may collapse any time, says DVS

'Downtrodden have been completely neglected'

Union Railway Minister D V Sada- nanda Gowda on Sunday said the State government led by Siddaramaiah may collapse any moment due to its misgovernance and infighting in the ruling party.

Speaking after inaugurating executive committee meeting of SC morcha of the State BJP, he said the Congress government has been exposed in the span of one year and three months. The government came to power in the name of downtrodden and under-privileged people, but it has completely neglected them, he charged.

He took a dig at the government for appointing retired police officer Kempaiah as an adviser to the home minister and said it was for the first time a government has appointed a retired officer to spy on a minister. The moment he took charge as the adviser, he transferred senior IPS officers signaling that he calls the shot in the Home department, he alleged.

Siddaramaiah should have voluntarily announced that he denotified BDA land at Arkavathy Layout if he had done anything wrong. But he did it only when opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar exposed it on the floor of the House. This proves the intention behind the denotification, he added.

The government filed a case against Shettar the day after he exposed the denotification issue. The Congress has been indulging in politics of revenge, he alleged and added that the announcement to conduct a judicial probe into the issue was an effort to cover it up.

Besides, infighting has intensified in the Congress. State Congress chief G Parameshwara has been making all out efforts to get a berth in the cabinet. “He (Parameshwara) has been planning to show off his strength on August 6 on the occasion of his birthday. His birthday may turn out to be death day for the State Congress. Going by these developments, I will not be surprised if the government collapses within three months,” he stated.

People are disillusioned with the one year and three months rule of the Congress party. They have realised that the previous BJP government was better. Former Governor H R Bhardwaj too had said it.

People of the State have now pardoned the State BJP leaders, and they want to bring about a change in the State as they did in the country in the recent Lok Sabha elections, he added.
