SC refuses to list plea against High Court judge

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to list as urgent a petition filed by an advocate, which sought judicial inquiry into the sexual harassment allegations against a sitting Madhya Pradesh High Court judge made by a former woman additional sessions and district judge.

A bench presided over by Justice T S Thakur told the advocate M L Sharma to approach the chief justice’s court to get his petition listed on an urgent basis.

Sharma, on his part, submitted that he could not mention the matter before the chief justice’s court or the court number two headed by Justice H L Dattu, as both were occupied in hearing Constitution bench matters. On this, Justice Thakur said that he could not allow his plea due to administrative reasons.
